Description:
RedOctane.com is the perfect example of a no-frills, straigh-to-the-point, site.

This online game rental company barely has a logo. Technically, there is nothing wrong with the site,

but there's not much to distinguish it from the scores of other online rental sites on the Web.

However, despite RedOctane's bland impression, there are a couple of features that deserve to be mentioned.

First, their service allows you to rent Anime DVDs -- it's the perfect compliment for the geek in all of us.

Second, their 5 game, $39.95 plan, will please even the most avid gamer.

Heard Enough: Visit RedOctane or read more below

The Basics:
Yeah, yeah, yeah -- we know... No late fees; no due dates! Moving on...

RedOctane's console support is decent at best but for some odd reason they decided to offer Anime DVD's as well

. It doesn't make sense, seeing as how this is a video game rental site, but we'll count it.

The pricing plans are below the industry standard and the fact that you can rent 5 games at once is the real kicker!

When it's all said and done, two people will gain from this site: Those who can find time to rent 5 games at a time,

and those who live next door to RedOctane.

There isn't much here that will confuse you. The registration consists of nothing but the usual: name, info, bloodtype, etc.

Once you join you'll be able to add games to your Rental Queue -- this is basically your video game rental wishlist.

While browsing the games just click the "add" button and your selection will be placed in your queue.

From there you can change the priority of your choices, moving some up and others down

. If you decide you don't want a game then simply delete it off your list.

Shipping Info:
RedOctane is one of the many sites that ships out of California. You know what this means?

Yup, long-as-hell waits for us out here on the East Coast. And just a bit of advice...

Don't lose the return mailer that comes with your game. RedOctane will gladly charge the mess out of you.

That's a $3.00 mistake that you don't want to make.

Features:
RedOctane makes video game renting a little easier by sending email confirmations the

day the game is shipped and also when it's returned, which most of the other top competitors do anyway.

In addition, you can also see how long your wait time will be to recieve a game

Keep in mind, everything won't be available when you want it so it's a good policy

to keep your Rental Queue stocked with as many games as you want.

Pros:
The site doesn't pack much of a punch, but at least it works.

We didn't have any problems when we tested their service.

Visitors who, unfortunately, rely on the archaic 56K modem will appreciate their fast loading site;

Plus the fact that you can rent Anime DVD's is a deal every gaming geek can appreciate

; And for the die-hard gamers, they offer a five game rental deal.

They also provide basic instructions for their games that you can view at their site.

Cons:
Well, for starters that don't even offer a free trial.

Huh! Also, their search and browse feature is also a tad bit confusing.

Two people will gain from this site: Those who can find time to rent 5 games at a time

, and those who live next door to RedOctane.

Recommended only for West Coast renters due to high wait times.

Who Would Benefit From This?
Die-hard gamers who possess the multi-tasking skills necessary to play five video games at one time.
