PS2: Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 2
Naruto Ultimate Ninja 2 is, at first glance, a simple fighter in the vein of the DBZ Budokai and Super Smash Bros. titles. It seems squarely aimed at the younger crowd but if you delve deeper into its secret ninja ways, you’ll find a well-rounded and entertaining fighter that even hardcore gamers will enjoy.
PSP: Crush
Crush is one of those rare titles that delivers on nearly all of its ambitious promises. When a game boasts of mind-bending 3D puzzle-platforming coupled with a deep and intriguing backstory, most gamers expect at least one of those aspects to go oh so horribly wrong.
Wii: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
With the release of the Wii version of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, I thought I had finally gotten my chance to attain wizardhood, or to get as close as possible without actually moving into Hogwarts.
PS2: GrimGrimoire
When we heard the concept behind Grim Grimoire, a PS2 real-time strategy game done in a 2D side-scrolling world, we were seriously intrigued. The concept sounded so outrageous, and yet so bold, that we couldn’t help but take notice.
Xbox 360: The Darkness
The last thing you can say about The Darkness is that it’s just like every other first-person shooter. Based on the comic book series by Top Cow Productions, it’s a refreshing change of pace in a genre marked by copy-cat design and been-there-done-that gameplay.
DS: Hoshigami Remix
As the name suggests, Hoshigami Remix is a remake, of the PlayStation turn-based RPG Hoshigami: Ruining Blue Earth to be exact.
Xbox 360: Call of Juarez
The biggest complaint lodged against the FPS genre is that there is little diversity amongst the themes and settings used in the games: distant planets, WWII and modern cities clearly dominate the landscape.
PSP: Final Fantasy I
Let’s face it: Square Enix could put the words “Final Fantasy” on a shoebox with a turd inside and sell a million copies.
Wii: Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree
“Ah, you must enjoy basking in the warm sun on a peaceful day… Because that’s how you just played! Rouse yourself! Try again!”
